Product Information

What colors do the patterns come in?

The patterns can be made in any color combination. For example, you can have the stone pattern as beige on red, or it could be white on blue.

How soft is the tile?

This is a common question and difficult to answer since “soft” has different meanings to different people. We’ll give it a try. The Kinele tile provides a firm surface with the right amount of flexibility and give for athletic activities. So it is an excellent surface for aerobic exercise, dance, and other activities such as volleyball or weight lifting.

Kinele tile is not as soft as a rubber mat or thick carpeting. which leave a temporary imprint as you walk on it. These surfaces are too soft for general athletic activities or the needs of an all purpose children’s playroom. If you have a multi-purpose area that is used for aerobics and also self-defense, Kinele tile is a good solution – but you may need additional mats on top of the Kinele tile for the activities where people are thrown to the floor (self defense, gymnastics)..

Can you print our logo on the tiles?

We can print your logo on one tile or spread it over many – for example, over a grid of 9 tiles. If you wish to place your logo on one tile, we recommend printing it on one tile and spreading it throughout the facility using about 5% of the tiles. Contact us for logo imprinting charges.

I saw you had number (1-10) on some of your pictures. What colors do they come in?

See the Colors page for a description of the numbers and available colors..

Why is your product better than rubber flooring products?

Kinele tile has no odor. Kinele tile will not get hills or valleys. It will not get marked by furniture. It will hold its shape longer. It can be moved and reinstalled more easily. Dirt will not get in between the seams.

What happens if the floor is flooded after the tile is installed?

Kinele tile is the perfect application for basements that can occasionally flood from storms. Water will not harm the tile. Just lift up the tile, dry the floor, and reinstall.

Ordering

How do I place an order?

Use our toll free number and give us a call - or you can or send us an email.

What is the Product Lead time?

While we stock some small quantities, because of the number of colors and potential color combinations, most orders are custom made at our factory. Therefore our lead times on most orders are approximately 4 weeks.

Can I get samples?

We expect you to see our product before you order. We can show you lots of pictures on this web site – but nothing replaces having the product in your hand. So just call us and we’ll get some samples to you. We only ask that you have a real application – sending samples does get expensive.

What is the price of the product?

Contact us for pricing and shipping costs.

Can I mix and match colors on my order?

You can create an exciting design when you mix different colored tiles on an order. We will custom package orders to meet your requirements at no extra cost.

Installation

What tools do I need to install the floor?

Installation is very simple. The tiles snap together easily. You will need a rubber mallet to ensure the tiles are firmly connected and to make minor side to side adjustments. You will also need a sharp utility knife or a jig saw to cut tiles to make them fit at the edges of the room. See the installation instructions.

What happens if the floor is not perfectly level?

All floor installations require a relatively smooth and level subfloor. The Kinele tile can withstand some minor fluctuations but a smooth level subfloor is desired.

How do I create a transition from the floor to the next room?

You can use a wooden transom, similar to what would be used for a carpet installation. Kinele does not currently manufacture a transition product.

Can Kinele tile be installed outdoors?

We do not recommend outdoor installations. The colors will fade quickly under the uv rays of the sun. It can be used in a covered area.

How do I replace a tile in the middle of the floor?

The interlocking tiles make a tight connection. That’s a good thing. But it does make the replacement of a middle tile a bit difficult. It can be done. Just pry up the tile carefully using a very thin screwdriver or a knife to remove the old tile. You will have to carefully maneuver the replacement tile to fit back into the space left by the removed tile.

Maintenance

What do I use to clean to the product?

Use any non-ammonia based cleaning product. You can wet mop the tile. Easy to clean is one of the many benefits of Kinele Tile.

What do I do if a tile gets damaged?

OK – your 3 year old got the indelible Sharpie marker and went to town. Now what? You can simply pry up the tile and replace it with a new one. You might want add a couple of extra tiles to your order for this purpose.
